thoughty thought thoughts.
Dec. 3rd, 2009 10:50 pmWhat's the relationship between Archive of Our Own and the Organization of Transformative Works? I've been scanning the comments * (I found it linked on wank report). What caught my eye in particular was this comment which states the "catch" to AO3: we'll archive your work for you, but in the process we get an easy repository from which to link to things that are notoriously hard to provide stable citations for (being that fanfic is always moving). So, by signing on to AO3, are you putting your work out there permanently? Can you remove it or edit it or, basically, maintain control over it in various ways?
I know a lot of you on my flist have started shifting your fic to AO3 so I was wondering if you knew/had any thoughts.
