glee_angst_meme. The title is from a song by Owen Pallett.
It took more to convince him than she had anticipated. Even after he'd stripped down to his underwear he keeps asking "Are you sure? Are you a hundred percent sure?" because Finn, the poor, thoughtful idiot, is more concerned about her purity now than she is.
"I'm sure," she tells him, taking his hands and pulling him closer to her. She's sitting at the edge of her bed, with her skirt hiked up to her waist, her panties discarded on the floor. She won't undress for him, and while he thinks it's because of her modesty, there's more to it than that. She's holding a secret inside of her, and it's already started to betray her in subtle ways. She's sick sometimes, she's achy, she's tired, and the growth on the inside is starting to show on the outside. The changes have, so far, been noticeable only to her, but she's not going to take any chances at this stage of the game.
She reclines; he practically falls on top of her. She almost gets angry at him for being so clumsy - it's instinctive - but when she catches herself wrapping her arm around her abdomen she forces herself to laugh instead. "Watch it, Finn," she tells him in a playful tone, but there's a sharp edge of real warning in her words.
"My bad," he replies. His voice wavers; he's nervous. She laces her fingers across the back of his neck, and he kisses her deeply. It's a genuine attempt at romance, but Quinn isn't into it the way he is. To her this is a chore, something that needs to be done, a check mark on today's to-do list. She lets him kiss her, but she does not kiss him back. She simply lays back and opens her legs for him.
He's clumsy and uncertain, and while she knows now how to guide him, she bites her tongue. She's supposed to be just as new at this as he is, and she can't afford to raise his suspicion. While he fumbles, she inhales deeply and closes her eyes, and her mind wanders around the convoluted reasons she has to explain to herself why she's doing this in the first place.
Because I love him, she tells herself.
Because he's my boyfriend, she tells herself.
Because I'm already pregnant - this thought sneaks in, unwelcome - and I can't tell him that I cheated on him.
"Am I hurting you?" he asks, and her thoughts shatter instantly.
"No, not at all," she quickly replies, but her breath is ragged and there's none of her usual conviction in her voice.
Finn is still in doubt. He leans on one arm so he can bring his hand to her face, He cups her chin in his palm and runs the pad of his thumb along her cheek. "Quinn, you're crying," he says.
"I'm okay," she lies. "It's okay."
"I can stop if you want me to," Finn offers, and for a moment his whole body is still. Quinn can feel his gaze, but she averts her eyes. She can't look at him, not while she's doing this to him. It's one thing to lie to him, and another to lie to his face.
"Let's do this," she tells him, running her hand down his upper arm in an encouraging gesture. "I want to do this."
He's pensive for a moment as he considers and reconsiders, and she holds her breath while he hesitates. Finally he nods, and she smiles. She lunges upward quickly, impulsively, and pecks him on the cheek. He blushes, and smiles, and then before she can say "mailman" he's done.
They lay on her bed for a while afterwards. They face the same direction, and Finn has his arms around her, and he hugs her gratefully in silence before whispering "I love you, Quinn."
"I love you too," she says back, but she isn't into it the way he is.

Aaaaaaaaaand then I feel bad for being so scheming.
ETA: Since I know you like getting feedback on the feedback polls, I just realised that I'm pathologically incapable of ticking the box and not leaving a comment too. Not that I wouldn't have left this comment anyway, but if I didn't have a comment to comment with, I don't think I would have answered the poll either because I feel rude just ticking a box and leaving it at that.

The feedback polls are really interesting to me for that sort of reason. I'm half-tempted to meta more about it, given the recent meta-discussions about commenting etiquette and everything, but I don't know yet what I'd be thinking. TOO MUCH TO READ.

It was really well executed. You turned sex for Quinn into something dirty and ugly when it should have been beautiful and awkward (if she'd really loved him).
"I love you too," she says back, but she isn't into it the way he is.
That is pretty much the story of their relationship. Finn has always felt more for her than she has for him (because she thinks he's an idiot and she doesn't trust him, and a myriad of other things). It's just absolutely heart breaking (and real) to think of her doing this to him. Scheming to ruin his life like this because she made a mistake.
Great work!

But I think he'd also be willing to put up with whatever rules Quinn set for him, if he could just get into her pants. At the celibacy club meeting she was all like "Don't you dare say the C-word!" when Rachel mentioned contraception, so I think Finn would be trusting and gullible and count on Quinn to make sure nothing happened.

*sigh*
Like I said, very well written, as all of your pieces are! ;)

Thanks for reading, even though you don't like Quinn. :P

Or maybe you could go with "Spritzer" that's what they called it in San Antonio!

To her this is a chore, something that needs to be done, a check mark on today's to-do list. - Gah, I don't even - okay, so it's their first time. Their first time together as a couple, and it should be beautiful, and wonderful and probably extremely awkward. It should be, but it's not. It's ugly and painful and so, so wrong.
Wonderfully done!

I'll try to write less painfully next time.Nope, I just posted something even worse. My bad.
