Oh hey you guys.

The nominations are still open at the [livejournal.com profile] sylaire_awards, so go nominate some stuff if you haven't already! I may have even written some Sylaire fic... wink wink nudge nudge.

And thanks to everyone for pimping and nominating at the [livejournal.com profile] heroes_het_fic awards! Way to make more work for me! You guys are too awesome.

Also I've written up these rules for wank prevention. Please keep these in mind while resisting the urge to post during upcoming episodes of whatever it is anyone watches anymore.

[livejournal.com profile] cruiscin_lan's Rules for Wank Prevention

  1. Cut the spoilers
  2. Lock anything that could get ugly, even if it's posted to a community
  3. ???
  4. Profit!!!

On another note, everything I touch turns to angst. I just started working on my [livejournal.com profile] heroes_exchange assignment, and it is not turning out at all like what I think the requester wants. I feel like it's too late to change it now, so maybe I'll post this separately after the exchange and write a whole new fic later. Oh well. I just wish I knew where mah funneh went.

Mayhaps I shall do a poll.

[Poll #1386465]

On the POV, I gotta say, it's not just a preference for 3rd person. It's an abiding hatred to 1st and 2rd. I pretty much refuse to read either, particularly not in fanfic, because I feel they're incredibly difficult to do well, and usually just end up pretentious and/or lazy.

And, weirdly, as much as everyone always says present tense is action oriented, it tends to feel very dreamy to me. Past tense is grounded and real, and works very well for action. Present is great for angst or fic that does a lot of telling for the sake of drawing a broader, more artistic picture, IMO.
