The Dragonrides of Pern series by Anne McCaffrey

The Belgariad is a five-book fantasy epic written by David Eddings
The Malloreon is a five part fantasy book series written by David Eddings, which follows The Belgariad.
Belgarath the Sorcerer is a book by David Eddings and Leigh Eddings
Polgara the Sorceress is a fantasy novel by David and Leigh Eddings, and the twelfth in the setting of The Belgariad, The Malloreon and Belgarath the Sorcerer.

I love both series with a passion.
