Fic: Imperative
Title: Imperative

Summary: Sylar finally gives in to his evolutionary imperative.
A/N: Originally written for the YAHAKM.
"Do you have the camera, Luke?"
Luke nods, hoisting the camcorder up in front of his face, making sure it's on and ready to go.
"Ready?" Sylar asks.
"When you are," Luke replies.
Sylar has her pinned to the bed in front of him, using his telekinesis. She's naked from the waist down; any more undressing would have been unnecessary. Sylar hasn't kept her here for either his pleasure or her pain. All he wants is a child, and Claire Bennet happens to be the safest vessel for that child.
He's tried doing everything right. He's stopped masturbating, he's given up drugs and alcohol, and started giving Claire prenatal vitamins and keeping her well-fed and well-clothed. He's looked to her every need, and so he doesn't feel even a twinge of guilt when he has her like this, exposed and open; a twinge of pity, perhaps, but not guilt.
He lets his own pants fall past his buttocks, and he arches over her, sliding his already-hardened member into her slit. She turns her head away; her head is the only part he lets her still control. It's a small comfort he knows he can offer her. She spent the first few times hurling vindictives at him, calling him names. Sylar was almost glad that it didn't work those few times, because what kind of way is that to make a baby? Lately, however, she's simply been turning away, closing her eyes, as though she's pretending this isn't really happening to her. Four, five, six thrusts, and it's already over. Claire had been holding her breath the whole time.
Afterwards he slips a pillow underneath her hips, holding her legs up telekinetically. He places his hand on the flesh beneath her belly, trying hard to concentrate on what he's just deposited inside her, trying to help it along as best he can. She shivers under his touch, and he knows she'd rather he just let nature take its course, but he can't help himself. "If it works this time, we won't ever have to do this again," he whispers to her, but she's not reassured, pinching her eyes even tighter and letting a few tears fall onto the pillow.
"Okay, bring it in closer," Sylar commands, and Luke obediently hits the zoom, stepping closer for extra emphasis. "This is Claire Bennet," he says, addressing the camera directly. "And that was attempt number six."

I love Sylar's almost logical and scientific approach to procreation. How very Vulcan-like of him.
