wut.

Vote for the [livejournal.com profile] sylaire_awards you guys! It's your right.

Right now I'm coding the nominees post for the Heroes Het Awards. While it's a lot of work, it makes me irrationally giddy. I'm amazed at the array of nominees we've gotten so far - and actually, there's far fewer double noms than I thought at first (although there are one or two triple noms). The Best of Pairing/Characterization categories are still languishing from lack of nominations, but most of the Best Overall categories are booming.

Except crossovers. Perhaps Heroes does not lend itself well to het crossovers.

And now, to distract me from the endless coding I have to do yet, a meme:

The first TEN people to comment in this post get to request a drabble of any pairing/character of their choosing from me (word prompts are good too). In return, they have to post this in their journal, regardless of their ability level. (You don't have to. You totally have to.)

For you, kind of a double drabble. Actually, it reads more like the beginning to a fic, mayhaps?

Also thanks for the banner! I think it's lovely!
******

Nathan Petrelli, U.S. senator. Nathan Petrelli, once pilot in the U.S. Navy, then an assistant D.A. for the state of New York. Nathan Petrelli, father of three. Aside from a recently developed obsession with clocks and keeping time, everything seemed normal.

Except when Claire visited, which occurred with increasing frequency. She wanted to help, she wanted to get to know him, she just wanted to see how he was doing - he couldn't turn her down. But he couldn't explain the contrasting feelings that her visits brought out in him, the feelings of fatherly affection versus the feelings no father should ever have for their child.

This time she knocked on the door to his office while he was in the midst of a conference call. Silently he gestured for her to come in. She sat at the chair across from his desk patiently, her fingers idly running up and down the length of silver chain that made up part of the necklace from Noah. The longer his phone conversation continued, the more carelessly she tugged at it.

When the clasp came undone, she asked him to refasten it for her. He smiled - a loving smile, the way any father would smile at his daughter - and held out his hand. The tiny silver heart dangled from the end of the chain momentarily before Claire dropped it into his palm.

And in that moment, everything changed.

I love this! Please tell me this is the beginning of a fic? I think the unholy union of those ships is going to make for a summer of great fanfic, you know?

That banner was just me messing around, I can make a nicer one, or use a different image, or whatever. Just let me know. Or some in different sizes. (I figure some like them big and some like them small, depends on where you display them I guess...)

It might be, who knows - I need to get my ass in gear with my exchange fic and my Sweet Charity epics, so I can't promise anything.
