I think she is dead-dead. A simone deveaux/Eden death. They retcon her character and then killed her? I'm really disappointed. She was a brave fighter, for god sake, not a whimpering little girl!
The reason I don't mourn too much Elle' s death are the fanfic! :D we still have the AU or even the Future we've seen... They still can have their happy ending, like Sylar said: Not a good boy, but something like HRG: Home, family and not afraid to do the job he have to do. :)
