Hey peeps, y'all want to do me a favor and explain to me why I rock so hard?

No, for serious, I'm trying to write a blurb about myself and my writing for the Sweet Charity auction. But here I am thinking "I think my strengths are angst and interpretive dance" but then I get all "What if no one likes my angst?"

Whoa. That was angsty meta about angst.

This bout of self-consciousness was brought on by a discussion with a RL friend who knows and understands my nerdy tendencies. When I told her I was offering epic fic for any pairing for this Sweet Charity thing, she looked me dead in the eye and said, "But are you good enough to do that?" EPIC FRIEND FAIL.

So yeah, if you guys could tell me what you think my strengths are, I'll gladly return the favor!

P.S. Can anyone beta my Mylar fic exchange thing? It's not quite done yet, but I want to finish it this weekend.

P.P.S. Podfic - yay or nay? I only just discovered what it was (thanks to surfing that Sweet Charity thing) and now I'm intrigued. I think I'll give it a try, and if it works, I'll offer a dramatic fic reading too!

I think your many stengths are: the ability to tackle any pairing believably. Also, I really like your happy flirty fics (like Annapolis, and Mohelle), and really super awesome and HILARIOUS gen fics (like the Lyle transdimensional story). And also the way you can set your fics in a real-seeming time and place (again, like the Annapolis story).

AHAHA PODFIC. I started doing that, and then I was too immature to read the porn without giggling. I should try it again. Check out the biggest podfic archive at jinjurly.com, they have good advice on how to make good podfic. <3

I love how you really develop your characters and you have such a deep understanding of them and their motivation - it makes all of your fic so believable.

And I love podfic - I've only heard a few, but I think it's great.

Well - you are the queen of Sylar/Claire. You write fluff that makes me feel all tickly inside. You write excellent, believable dialogue. Your Native American name would be "Short and Sweet."

re: podfics - Oh, awesome, I'm glad you know what they are! Would you recommend any podfics in particular? I'm really intrigued. I think I'll try one of my own fics first and then see if I can do justice to someone else's too.

I've only heard a few podfics, and to be honest the only one that I really remember is a parody one that I did for perdicaas' birthday. You can laugh at me listen to it here.

See, I think you can do epic fic, because Angel with a Broken Watch is pretty epic!! All I would be concerned about is the time limit, you know? How long will it, realistically, take you to write the length you promised?

and what is podfic? the first thing I thought of was peas and the second thing I thought of was Body Snatchers... so I'm a little intrigued, haha.

PS RL friends who understand nerdy tendencies are awesome. I myself have two :) but I'm sorry that your friend failed you this one time :(

I think I set July 1st as the deadline. It took me about a month on and off to write Indian Burn, so I think it's feasible.

Podfic is fic read out loud in audio format, like an mp3. That way you can listen to the fic on your iPod or through your laptop, if reading ain't your thing.
