I have nothing but respect for teachers, those who teach high school especially. I've subbed in high schools before, and I just don't have the patience for it most of the time. But I like to think I have a similar relationship with my college students (even though most of them are non-traditional, and much older than I am, at least six of them showed me their ultrasounds this past semester) and I can imagine how, in teaching high school, the relationships between students and teachers have the chance to flourish into something stronger.

Although, I think my favorite part was Quinn seeing her mother and realizing that no matter how far she's fallen she still has so much going for her.

This was actually the last scene that I wrote. I very nearly did the thing where they do see each other, but one still walks away, but that's become such a storytelling cliche. I thought it worked better this way, and I'm glad it worked for you.

Guess I'll have to start writing more fics full of platonic love!
