You're right, you can close them, which would help. If you delete them, you would lose all the earlier feedback as well, incl. the positive stuff. I don't think it's a big problem: most people are never going to be subject that sort of abuse. Otherwise, I think (as a reader) that polls are a great idea that should be used far more widely.
