This is just wonderful, and I love it more each time I read it. There are so many lines that are just gold. I'd quote them all if I didn't think that would just look ridiculous.
Your Rachel voice is completely spot-on, and it's exactly how I imagine she'd write in her diary-slash-future-memoir. I like that the fact that she thinks it might be published someday adds another layer to what we read; how much of it is what she genuinely believes/thinks/feels, and how much is what she thinks would sound right?
I love every line out of Puck's mouth. These are highlights, and so very, very Puck:
"We don't really have to practice first, right? We can skip right to the making out?"
""So where do you keep your sexy underwear?"
I think my favorite part of the entire piece is this one, though: Even so, he set down his guitar and his bookbag and delved right in, taking one of my cashmere cardigans in his hands and... well, I don't even know how to begin describing what he was doing, but it certainly wasn't accomplishing anything.
And the reference to Puck's Nana's recipe is a delightful touch.
This has brought many a smile to my face. Thank you so much!
